Intelligence is not a bonus for me, it is the entry point. A man who reads, who arrived at his opinions himself, who can hold a subject for longer than one sentence. That is what turns my head, and it turns it quickly.

Charm I seem to have been handed for free. I have never had to work at putting people at ease. A smile, a joke landing on the right second, a room that softens because somebody walked into it. Conversation, to my mind, is choreography, and I know a great many steps. I am perfectly happy to let you lead for a while.

As for being sexy, yes, I look after myself, but that has never been the substance of it. It is the ease of living in your own skin, the way you carry yourself across a room, the attention you give to whoever is standing in front of you. Desire starts in somebody's imagination long before it reaches their hands, and that has always struck me as the more interesting place to begin.

Cerebral, charming, sensual, in that order and all at once. Life is far too short for anything duller, don't you think?
