Red Door bills itself as the only dedicated erotic massage parlour in Canberra, and since 2015 it has worked out of a smart, low-key studio at 17 Lyell Street, Fyshwick. Women own it and women run it.

There are four massage rooms, done out in charcoal, exposed brick and soft lamplight, with walk-in waterfall showers and a big round spa in one of them. Guests meet the masseuses in a private introduction room, with mints on the table, before heading through. Shifts run from noon to midnight, Tuesday to Sunday; VIP members get the parking space out the back and the rear door.
