Parramatta Road is not where anyone expects a marble spa, which is presumably the point. Stiletto sits at number 82 in Camperdown, a few minutes out of the CBD, with the front door tucked around the side on Larkin Street and a free underground car park off Sparkes Street, so the lift does the walking.

Inside it runs to 19 suites over three levels. Most have a backlit freshwater jet spa, a stocked bar, touch-panel mood lighting and a pole on a marble podium; the premier suites add a billiard table. Guests wait in one of ten private rooms before the introductions, there is a separate VIP introduction room, a proper bar, a guard on the door and in-house maids who change the linen after every booking. The top floor can be taken whole for groups. It has been trading for over twenty years and has apparently never learnt how to close.
