Über uns

Camelot Showbar opened on M Street NW in 1979 and, by its own account, has kept the same address and the same owners ever since. The two-story club sits a few blocks south of Dupont Circle. A recent renovation left the ground floor in rich colors and a classic room, while the upstairs floor runs on stage lighting and a disco ball; each level has its own dance stage, and the bar leans on a drinks list the club is openly proud of.

Doors open at 8 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday, except Friday, when the lights come on at 1 p.m. It closes at 2 a.m. midweek and on Sunday and at 3 a.m. on Friday and Saturday; Monday it stays dark. The dress code asks for collared shirts and proper shoes, so the sneakers can wait at the hotel.
