I'm a hundred and seventy-eight centimetres before I put any shoes on, which has meant a lifetime of being the first person anyone notices walking into a room. It stopped bothering me somewhere around thirty. These days I rather like it. My door in Mahboula is open in the evenings, and I am a good deal warmer in person than tall women are usually assumed to be.
