The Men's Club of Reno has been working the same patch of downtown for more than 30 years, and it marked number 31 with a luau. The address is 270 Lake Street; the doors open at 7 p.m. every night and close late.
Two stages carry the dancing, and a balcony VIP table has a full view of the action. The food is the surprise. The French Quarter kitchen, run by chef Francisco Carrillo, sends out steaks, pastas and pizza, and the Mermaid Sushi Bar keeps rolling after most kitchens in town have shut.
Entry is free in the first hour, which doubles as happy hour. The valet is free all night.
