Townhouse is the big cream building on the corner of Union Street and Roslyn Street in Tranmere, Birkenhead, five minutes from Liverpool city centre. No neon, no sign. The outside is kept plain on purpose so members can come and go quietly.

Inside it's four floors, most of it recently done up. Downstairs is the bar, a lounge with bold wall art, a UV room and a covered courtyard for smokers. Upstairs you'll find two private rooms, a large group room with king-size beds, a hot tub and a sauna, plus a fetish floor with a dungeon and a medical room for the busy BDSM programme.

Main nights are Thursday to Saturday, 8pm to 2am, with some Monday, Tuesday and Sunday events. Tickets only, booked ahead. Dress smart on arrival; it's dress-down upstairs after 10.30pm. Bring photo ID and cash for membership.
