Pints of Guinness at a pub price and a pole stage at the back: the Nags Head on Whitechapel Road has been doing both since 1980, which makes it one of London's oldest strip pubs, a few minutes' walk from Aldgate and the City's insurance quarter.
It keeps the old East End formula: a proper bar with draught beer, spirits and champagne, live sport on the screens, stage shows and private dances in booths. Entry is free before seven. Stag groups and office parties can book packages. Hours run from four on Monday to Wednesday and from noon Thursday to Saturday; Sunday is closed.
