A flying saucer sits on the roof along North Dale Mabry, glowing pink and blue after dark, and that is how most of Tampa gives directions to 2001 Odyssey. The club opened in 1969, took its name from the film, and put one of the few Futuro houses ever built up top; today that saucer is the private dance room. Downstairs the club is fully nude, with mirrored stages, champagne rooms and VIP lounges. No liquor is served, which is why the doors stay open from noon until 4 a.m., 5 a.m. on Thursdays and 6 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. Bring a photo ID; guests must be 18.
