My Swedish massage takes in the whole body. You begin on your back or your stomach and turn over halfway through. Deep tissue uses many of the same long strokes and kneading movements, but with far more pressure, and that pressure can sometimes be uncomfortable. To reach the deepest muscle I work layer by layer, pressing harder as I go and using my fingers, fists and sometimes even elbows to reach and stretch the tissue beneath.
