About us

Mary's was a piano bar for merchant seamen when Roy Keller bought it in 1954, and in 1965 he put dancers on during the pianist's breaks. The pianist, noticing the line outside, eventually took the hint. It has been Portland's first topless club ever since, and fully nude since Oregon's rules changed in 1985.

The family still runs it, now two blocks from the old Broadway address, at 503 West Burnside, where it moved in December 2022. Expect a stage with a pole under blue light, a private dance area, more than 35 dancers across the week and an all-female bar staff who keep things easygoing.

It opens at 11:30 a.m. and closes at 2:30 a.m., every single day of the year.
